About Us

The Weymouth Bay Church was opened in March 2009. It was built to replace the former church in Maiden Street which suffered a disastrous fire in January 2002.  The Maiden Street congregation were pleased to accept the offer of the Rector of Holy Trinity Anglican Church to share the St Nicholas building in Buxton Road. Little did we realise that this arrangement would have to continue for more than six years. The identification and acquisition of a site followed by the design and construction of the new church took the intervening years. During this time the congregation of the Westham Church was finding it increasingly difficult to manage their property and took the decision to close and join in the new church when it opened.
Construction started in October 2007 and the Foundation Stone was laid on March 1st 2008.The Church was opened by the President of Conference, the Reverend Stephen Poxon on the 14th March 2009.
